It was an insightful one-hour session chaired by Dean, Teresa M. Monllau Jaques. The meeting was conducted primarily in Catalan, a language I deeply respect even though I don’t yet speak it fluently. I could follow the Spanish part and even grasp some Catalan, but what I truly valued was witnessing how Cataluña actively promotes its language and culture within academic and professional settings. It’s a reminder of how language is not only a medium of communication but also a reflection of identity and community. I only wish the session had been recorded / broadcasted with an option for translation; a step that could further enhance inclusivity for international faculty like myself.
